A magnetic stirrer with hot plate is a laboratory device that combines two functions:

1. Magnetic Stirring – Uses a rotating magnetic field underneath the top plate to spin a small magnetized bar (called a stir bar or “flea”) placed inside a liquid. This creates a vortex and mixes the liquid uniformly without manual stirring

2. Hot Plate Heating – A flat heating surface that warms the liquid to a controlled temperature during stirring. 

This combination helps scientists and technicians heat and mix liquids at the same time — much faster and more consistently than doing either task by hand
